Musical adventures with friends

Ariane bio:

"When I was a child of around 8 I learned to play treble recorder at our town's musical school for around 3-4 years.

My teacher led a group of musicians playing Renaissance music on historical instruments. So soon I became a member of this group - playing gigs in churches. That's when my musical hobby began.

I have continued playing in diverse recorder ensembles all my life.

As a teenager I taught myself playing the guitar - this was a gift by my beloved grandmother - later the tin whistle after I saw someone playing the low whistle in a concert of a Celtic band and was so fascinated by this sound in 2004.  And then the hammered dulcimer in 2008.

From 2005 - 2014 I have been playing tin whistle and hammered dulcimer in several bands as a semi-professional musician, mainly playing Celtic music having gigs in pubs, wine cellars, at whiskey tastings, art exhibitions, birthday parties, churches...

I learned other instruments like the Ukulele, Kalimba, Glockenspiel and Bowed Psaltery in recent years.

I am always interested in unique instruments - so at the end of November 2017, I ordered a student dulcimer in the USA and some months later I became a member of the Friends of the Mountain Dulcimer where I got to know Dean - and then our great collaboration began...

Playing music together with others is one of the most beautiful things in life."

Ariane

Ariane joined me on Cerise, Cerise playing Glockenspiel, Kalimba and Tin Whistle. I think you will agree her music adds a magical dimension to the song!

Ariane composed Fantasy Around the World and I was happy to accompany her lovely hammered dulcimer and bowed psaltery with my mountain  dulcimer.

Ariane Klauer - Reichelsheim, Germany

An original compostion by Ariane - she plays glockenspiel, sansula and ukulele and I am playing dulcimers
